Disaster Response

The Black Summer bushfires of January 2020 was one of the most intense and catastrophic fire seasons on record in Australia, a National Disaster affecting tens of thousands of lives. In NSW alone over 6000 properties were damaged in more than 437 localities spread across 45 local government areas.

Laing O'Rourke was appointed by the Public Works Advisory to lead the NSW Bushfire Clean-up Program, inspecting, evaluating, planning the clean-up works. Providing rapid support worth around $180 million in local investment in communities.

Work Completed: Robbie Lee Developments was appointed the Project of cleaning up the Friable Asbestos Contaminated properties affected by the Bushfires in the Blue Mountains Region. RLD Successfully Demolished and Disposed of the Friable Asbestos Waste to Over 60 Properties in some of the most remote Locations Covering an Area spanning Between Bell to Lithgow, Wolgan Valley to Rylstone and From Lithgow to Mudgee.

The Northern Rivers Recovery and Resilience Program (NRRRP) provides $150 million dollars to the New South Wales (NSW) Government to deliver flood mitigation and resilience projects across seven local government areas (LGAs) impacted by the devastating February - March 2022 flood event.

Work Completed: Robbie Lee Developments were Contracted to Provide Asbestos Removal, Mould Remediation and Demolition Services to over 50 Flood affected Properties as a result of the 2022 Natural Disaster Event.

The Lismore City Council Local Government Area, was impacted by unprecedented flooding events during February and March 2022. The impacts on Local Infrastructure, Community assets, Residential Properties and Businesses was devastating.

The Lismore City Councils Initial Flood Cleanup works included:

• Flood waste collection as people continue to clean and empty their properties
• Remediate temporary waste transfer point in East Lismore
• Collaborate with PWA to transport waste to interstate landfill
• Complete assessment of the road network and bridges
• Work with TNSW, Resilience NSW and PWA on planning, administration and delivery of restoration work programs across all of Council's assets
• Collaboration with BASEC ENGINEERING/ LISMORE CITY COUNCIL

Work Completed: Robbie Lee Developments were Among the first Companies to Respond to the 2022 Flood Cleanup program after the 2022 Lismore Floods.

RLD were Contracted to assist Lismore City Council in the cleanup after the Flood, Successfully Cleaning and Remediating over 60 of Councils Public Infrastructure and Facilities Buildings including Heritage Culturally significant Buildings.

RLD Provided over 30 personnel and Specialised Equipment to provide Services including: Mould Remediation, Waste Removal, Demolition, Asbestos removal, Lead Removal and Encapsulation.
